Organization
The Management of SMSD consists of the following of the Board and the Director.
The company currently has 87 employees and is considered one of the biggest local employers in the country.

Mission statement:
SMSD will become a leading mining company and an essential partner in the development and progress of the country, the community and the population with respect for the environment, the community and its needs and prospects.

The main activities of SMSD involve:
• mining (gold, diamonds, etc.),
• social and commercial development projects
• a local partner with local knowledge and services to foreign companies wishing to be established locally (via trade chambers, consulates, etc.).

Environmental & Strong humanitarian foundation:
• The ban on child labour, progress and human welfare and environmental protection are important parts of the company’s foundation.
• SMSD does not allow children to work and ensures excellent working conditions.
• SMSD has undertaken, inter alia, the duty to support and promote active, stable and long-term conditions in the health and education of the state, giving priority to the local villages.
• The General Manager of SMSD, Richard Gkouilavogkoui is the founder of “Agkemaf”, an agency prioritising the environment.
